  • Service 1: Fire Risk Assessment (Life Safety).     Firehouse(Scotland) staff have been trained  to carry out fire risk assessments using a number of formats such as PAS79 which are generally accepted by the Enforcing Local Authority and take cognisance of guidance provided within the Sector Specific guides. A fire Risk Assessment will entail an organised visit and meeting with a responsible member of staff, normally a manager or supervisor. Following a full inspection, a Fire Risk Assessment report is drawn up which will include photos and a brief digest of legislation, more importantly the relevant significant findings outlining deficiencies with a directed prioritised timescale for remedial action.
  • Service 2 : Intermediary services between Clients and Enforcing Authorities relating to remedial measures required following  audits by Enforcing Authorities. Firehouse (Scotland) recognises that many clients may be overwhelmed by jargon and prescriptive notices traditionally received following an audit by the Enforcing Authority. Firehouse (Scotland) offer support and intermediary services to negotiate agreeable action plans on the fire precautionary remedial measures so as to assist Companys with a planned expenditure over an agreed time scale.
  • Service 3 : Fire Safety Audits: Prior to the abolition of Fire Certificates, most certificated premises were inspected by the Local Enforcing Authority. However, with a change in emphasis of inspections many Companies are not being visited. Firehouse (Scotland) can provide a Fire Safety Audit report which gives employers a form of health check so they may tweak or manage the fire precautionary arrangements (a specialist skill in itself) that will enable them to comply with current legislation and complement/support their Health and Safety department activities.
  • Service 4 : Fire Extinguisher Surveys: Sadly, many companies frequently have either an over provision or ocassionally an under provision of portable appliances, the former resulting in unnecessary additional servicing costs. Firehouse (Scotland) can undertake an extinguisher provision survey in accordance with the appropriate British Standards along with a touch of common sense and be able to advise on your level of provision.
  • Service 5 : Fire Marshal/Fire Warden Training Courses: Firehouse (Scotland) can provide bespoke certificated one-day Fire Marshal training courses at the clients address if preferred. At the end of the course, candidates will have a good awareness of hazards/risks, better understand the fire precautionary arrangements in their work place and to direct and carry out Fire Marshall/Warden duties for the company. Firehouse  (Scotland) will normally visit company venues in order to take photographs so as to personalise presentations for candidates attending courses.
  • Service 6 : Staff Fire Safety Familiarisation Training Courses: Firehouse (Scotland) can provide Fire Safety familiarisation training courses of one/two hours to enable employers to meet their legislative requirements of general staff training appropriate to their responsibility.
  • Service 7 : Fire Risk Assessment Training Courses: Firehouse (Scotland) can provide a two/three day course to train up company staff/ safety officers to undertake fire risk assessment of certain types of small to medium sized company premises.
  • Service 8 : Advice & Monitoring of Evacuation  Arrangements: Firehouse (Scotland) can visit premises and advise on Company Policies and evacuation procedures accompanied by a full written report.
  • Service 9 : Plans for Alterations & Extensions pre-warrant submissions.(Scotland only): Firehouse (Scotland) offers a plan review service for new build and extensions of commercial premises. Giving advice to architects on the current building standards on means of escape provisions, Fire Service access, hydrants, suppression systems and auto detection, all details which Building Standards officers are likely to be required on plans accelerating the approval process for building warrant.
  • Service 10 : Fire Safety Signs & Notices Surveys: Firehouse (Scotland) can undertake a detailed fire safety signs and notices survey of premises to assist and advise employers about the relevant British Standards relating to safety signs as well as meeting the requirement of the regulations.
  • Service 11 : Portable Appliance Testing: As part of managing fire risks and hazards, companies must carry out regular checks and electrical testing of their portable electrical appliances. Firehouse (Scotland) offers this service by fully trained personnel at  competitive rates.
